The cramming of stuffing and other Thanksgiving goodness has been replaced with the last minute cramming of material before the semester’s end. I’ve done my fair share of studying this summer, so I’ve compiled a list of some of my favorite study spots in case you were looking for a change in studying scenery.

Ebrik Coffee Room: http://www.ebrikcoffeeroom.com/

GSU Location:
16 Park Place South SE Atlanta, GA 30303
Decatur Location: 309 E College Ave Decatur, GA 30030

Even with two locations, Ebrik is a hidden gem. My favorite thing is the atmosphere here. From the weekly motivational blackboard quotes to the friendly baristas, Ebrik does a great job of making everyone feel welcome and at home.

Pros:
Free wifi.
Fantastic outlet to seating ratio.
Great coffee and tea selection.
Parking lot at Decatur location.
Quiet background music.
Locally owned.

Cons:
No parking at GSU location.

Alcove Coffee: https://www.alcovecoffeehouse.com/

Located at: 4615 Hwy 78 Lilburn, GA 30047

I’ve been studying here since I was in high school. The great customer service, beautiful view of Lake Lucerne, and vast food and drink menu has kept me coming back throughout the years. Alcove was also where I found my love for lavender lattes.

Pros:
Free wifi.
Outdoor and indoor seating.
Parking lot.
No background music.
Locally owned.

Cons:
Has outlets, but they may be inaccessible depending on where you sit.
Far from the city.

Spiller Park: http://www.spillerpark.com/

Toco Hills: 2929 N. Druid Hills Rd. Atlanta, GA 30329
Ponce City Market: 675 Ponce de Leon Ave. NE Atlanta, GA 30308

Also with two great locations to serve you! However, the original location at Ponce City Market has limited space and is in the middle of the food hall. At the Toco Hills location, there is ample parking and great minimalist style decor complete with marble tables and baseball themed knickknacks. It’s perfect for those looking for new Instagram material and a distraction-free studying environment.

Pros:
Free wifi.
Great outlet to seating ratio. (Outlets are under the seats.)
Great coffee and food options.
Indoor and outdoor seating.

Cons:
Pricey.
Can get crowded.
Small tables (for those who like to spread their material out.)

Starbucks Reserve

Located at: 867 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta, GA 30308

This is the first Starbucks Reserve in the southeast. While they have your run of the mill Frappucinos, they also serve small batch coffees as well as special drinks like rose honey lattes and affogatos. It can be chaotic here with it being on Peachtree St NE in Midtown. There are many cars, pedestrians, and best of all, dogs (which might also be your downfall.)

Pros:
Free wifi.
Relatively good seating to outlet ratio.
Parking lot with free parking, a miracle in the heart of Midtown.
Close to Georgia Tech, GSU, and many nearby food options.
Variety of coffee and non coffee drinks, sandwiches, protein packs, and snacks.
Indoor and outdoor seating.

Cons:
Almost always crowded.
Occasionally plays music that makes you question whether you’re at a coffee shop or a night club.

There are other coffee shops you’ll be more than likely to find me at, but these are my go tos for when I want to get things done. Hope this helps, and best of luck with exams!
